The 10th annual Chantry Island Cham-bettes Christmas Tour of Homes inspired the spirit of Christmas design in over 1,000 people who took part November 16 and 17. With six homes opening their doors to tour-goers, interior designers, Cham-bettes members and homeowners themselves created holiday concepts from the distinctive to traditional with a modern flare.

Fresh snow and rain on Friday evening may have kept numbers down compared to recent years but after expenses the annual event raised $17,2000.

A Shiplap home, which was known as the “Hospital House” and played host Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) volunteers for the Tour of Homes, had wee homeowners operating a bake sale which featured Stella and Dot products. The young entrepreneurs raised $450 which will be donated to the hospital.

Like in years past, the Home Tour raised funds for community projects and organizations such as SMHF and Caitlyn Cobean's Community Crusaders (CCCC). Volunteers from CCCC could be found at a Southampton home during the tour.

Event organizer, Cham-bette Martha Bennett wanted to thank the over 100 volunteers who helped out with the two day event. “We would like to thank everyone who made this event possible and such a success, from the home owners, decorators, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who purchased tickets," she said.
