Bruce Power employees collected $7,800 for the Canadian Red Cross for tornado relief efforts in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, during a site-wide fundraiser last week, according to an October 3 media release.

“Our employees have stepped up to the plate to help others in the Ottawa area suffering through the devastation experienced by the recent tornadoes,” said David Abbott, Director, Community and Indigenous Relations. “When our employees saw the images of the destroyed homes and businesses and knowing many families were left without electricity and possessions, it was suggested we raise money for the Red Cross. The generosity of our employees is truly humbling, as they constantly step up for those in need.”

The community can continue to donate through the Bruce Power portal for Red Cross’ Ottawa-Gatineau tornado relief efforts at www.redcross.ca/OGTornado/Bruce.
