On September 20 at approximately 11:30 p.m. a male youth approached a person unknown to him and attempted to steal a wallet. A brief struggle followed with the victim retaining the wallet but losing a bag containing a sandwich and a cell phone.

Eventually the youth returned the bag and threatened to harm the victim.

After the incident the youth stole a bicycle in an attempt to flee the area. Officers conducted an investigation and identified a 17 year old Port Elgin male as the suspect. The youth was arrested on September 22 and charged with robbery and theft of the bicycle. He was released from custody with a court date.
