Saugeen Shores Police are investigating several incidents of possession of stolen property as a result of an arrest made by a member of the service.
In a Saugeen Shores Police Service media release, on Saturday, September 8 at 2 p.m. an officer was on patrol when a suspicious vehicle was observed at a local motel. A check of the vehicle revealed that it had been reported stolen in Grey County. The officer approached a male who was observed inside of the vehicle and attempted to place the male under arrest which resulted in a struggle. The suspect was eventually arrested with both the officer and the suspect sustaining minor injuries.
An investigation of the contents of the vehicle has revealed several stolen items from across Ontario and eastern Canada.
A 37 year old Bruce County man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, resisting arrest, breach of probation and possession of a schedule 1 substance – methamphetamine. He has been held for a bail hearing.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are anticipated.
