Emergency officials remain on the scene in front of GC Huston Public School and Bruce County Museum on Victoria Street in Southampton following a 911 call Tuesday morning indicating that a bomb was in a vehicle in the school’s parking lot.
The investigation is ongoing and the perimeter remains closed. Victoria Street North will also remain closed until further notice.
"We understand this is an uncertain time for local residents of the community. Thank you for your patience and understanding while the investigation continues,” said Phil Eagleson, Director of Protective Services with the Town of Saugeen Shores.
GC Huston Public School, Bruce County Museum as well as homes in the area were evacuated Tuesday morning. GC Principal Dan Russell reported earlier this afternoon that all of the students had been picked up.
Officials are waiting on the scene for the arrival of an OPP unit from Windsor.
We are expecting more information later this evening and will provide an update as more information becomes available.
