Saugeen Shores could see a pride flag flown during the first week of pride month in June, 2018.
Deputy Mayor Luke Charbonneau introduced a motion, seconded by Councillor Cheryl Grace, that is expected to be discussed by council February 26.
The motion suggests that the flag be raised “in a prominent municipal location,” suggesting the police station as a possibility, in recognition and support of LGBTQ residents.
The motion also suggests encouraging individuals and community groups to join the Town and undertaking their own positive efforts to recognize residents and visitors “of our inclusive and supportive community, identifying as LGBTQ.”
