Southampton Ward Councillor for Saugeen Shores, Don Matheson, will make a push for Provincial Parliament in 2018.

The High School teacher at Saugeen District Secondary School and Saugeen Shores Winterhawks General Manager will be acclaimed as the provincial Liberal candidate for the June election, at a nomination hearing Saturday, January 6 at the Lucknow Community Centre.

The Huron-Bruce riding is currently held by conservative incumbent Lisa Thompson who has served two terms as MPP. Prior to Thompson’s reign the seat was held by Liberal candidate Carol Mitchell from 2003-2011.
