The 14th annual Dinghy Poker Run was once again a soaker that kicked-off the end of season festivities at the Port Elgin Harbour while also raising $1,180 in funds for the Liv-A-Little Foundation.

The ever-growing event took place September 3 and saw 114 participants get in their dinghies to travel from one poker to another collecting five poker cards, all the while trying to dodge the sprays of other teams, boaters and a few mischievous folks along the pier.

The top hand was a Four of a Kind which was collected by Jack Schell, with Wayne Lee’s Full House taking second and Ron Moss taking third with a Flush. There were approximately 40 prizes available to top participants which had been donated by local business and boaters, with Royal LePage’s Cara Turcotte’s event sponsorship helping to cover expenses.
