Coming to small screens across the province on TVO, is a new documentary series exploring stories from Bruce County and the Saugeen Ojibway Traditional Territory. The three-part series will bring to life exciting scenes from the region’s history and producers are inviting actors of all ages to audition for over 50 roles as the area’s most celebrated and notorious historical figures. No experience is necessary and volunteers will receive a complimentary copy of the project on DVD.
Filming will take place throughout the year but mostly on summer and fall weekends. A commitment of one day is all that is required for most roles - with costumes, meals and refreshments provided. Honorariums will be provided to those with an extended commitment.
Auditions will be held April 11 and 22 in Southampton and on April 23 in Tobermory. Resumes and head shots are welcome but not required. Those interested are asked to e-mail the program’s producer, Yvonne Drebert at yvonne@visualheritage.ca.
Positions are also available, both volunteer and paid, for anyone looking for film production experience.
As part of the award-winning ‘Ontario Visual Heritage Project,’ (OVHP) the documentary will be distributed for free, along with a curriculum companion book, into every school in Bruce County, and shared with hundreds of thousands of Ontarians on TVO.
To launch the series, screenings will be held throughout the County.
