On January 3, the families of Aurora Jacobi, age 12, and Sarah Sollors, age 15, travelled to Ronald McDonald House in London with two other families to drop off a donation and to prepare a meal for the families staying in the house.

Ronald McDonald House is a “home-away-from-home” for families of children receiving medical care.

This was the fourth year for the families participating in the "Dinner at Our House" program and said that, as always, it was a very rewarding experience. In all, the families fed approximately 50 to 60 people.

Aurora and Sarah's Family Swim afternoon raised just over $400 for the Ronald McDonald House thanks to the many generous folks in attendance.

In an email to The Hub, Liz Sollars wrote, “We would like to put out a special thanks to the pool for their assistance with running the event, WSP Canada Inc. for sponsoring the pool time, Mowbray’s Canadian Tire, Blackboard Sound, Gingrich Service Centre, Marian Hill, Audie’s Electrical, and Ideal Supply for their donations of gifts and raffle items. And lastly, a huge thanks to the local media and 98 The Beach for their help with advertising the event. It's great to have such wonderful community support.”
