The women of Port Elgin’s Investors Group donated $1,000 to the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey before their sponsored Saugeen Shores Winterhawks game December 2.
The Investors Group were on hand throughout the game selling raffle tickets, with lucky winners winning Winterhawk tickets with a chance of winning $10,000 through a draw in January, 2017.
Coinciding with their night of sponsorship, Investors Group consultants were also handing out paper bags, which everyone was encouraged to fill for the Women’s House. The bags should include day-to-day items that can be given to women and children in need. Items such as women’s pajamas, new sheet sets, towels, bounce sheets, and treats are just a few of the recommended items.
Once the paper bags are filled, they can be dropped at the new Investors Group office, 594 Goderich Street, where they will be collecting bags until December 21.
The Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey provides services to women and their children in the area. Women’s House offers counselling, a telephone support line, shelter services, transitional support, and second stage housing.
