The Town of Saugeen Shores has announced that Amanda Froese P. Eng. has been hired as the new Director of Public Works.
In a November 14 media release, Froese comes to the municipality from Meritech Engineering where she held the position of Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and brings with her over 16 years of engineering experience. She holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Western Ontario in addition to holding a degree in Administrative Studies from Brescia University College.
Froese was named a Member of Professional Engineers Ontario Order of Honour of 2014 and has also been recognized for her contribution to engineering society by Fellow of Engineers Canada for her volunteer efforts.
“Amanda’s experience in civil engineering combined with her personable leadership style will make her an excellent membr of our team,” said David Smith CAO, Town of Saugeen Shores.
In accepting the position Froese said, “I want to express my gratitude and excitement for this opportunity to work with the team at the Town of Saugeen Shores.” Froese added, “Saugeen Shores is exactly the type of town that I want to raise my family in. We believe in investing in the community that we live in and look forward to hockey, soccer, volunteering and many other activities in town.”
Froese will be relocating to Saugeen Shores in early January and will officially begin her duties on January 17.
