On September 19 at approximately 2 p.m. the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing kayaker in the waters of Lake Huron between Chantry Island and the Saugeen Shores beach.

In a September 19 media release, sixty-year-old David Counsell of Saugeen Shores was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt.

OPP Helicopter, South Bruce OPP Marine unit, Saugeen Shores Police Service, Saugeen Shores Fire Department and Canadian Coast Guard are all assisting with the search.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.
