Another scam for which to be on the look-out

SS Police5 fullOn September 3 at 2:21 pm a cottager reported having received multiple calls on Saturday from a person claiming to be from Westario Power. This person further advised that power would be cut off in 30 minutes if they did not receive $1,000.

Saugeen Shores Police wish to advise that no company, credit card company or Canada Revenue Agency would conduct business in this manner. The best course of action is to hang up.

Overall the September long weekend came and left without any major incidents. However, Saugeen Shores Police were busy with the volume of people in our area.

Now that school is back in, please drive cautiously all the time but pay particular attention around school zones, school crossings and watch for school busses.

Another reminder that Saugeen Shores Police are starting their next business planning cycle for 2017 to 2019 and part of this process is a community survey. Police are asking for your input. The survey can be found on their website at saugeenshorespolice.com or go directly to the survey here.
