The Saugeen Shores Ladies baseball team, Slopitch Junkies, went all out with their year end get-together and all to raise funds for the Liv-A-Little Foundation. Members of the team filtered in and out for an impromptu baseball practise with their families on Port Elgin’s Main Beach, August 25.

The team placed purple food grade corn starch into wiffle balls wrapped in tinfoil and threw the balls to each other while some tried their hand at batting.

The purple powder attracted passers-by who were then informed about the local non-profit foundation that exists to raise awareness and funds for Cystinosis research, and they even donated to the Slopitch Junkies fundraising efforts.

The total team amount has not been calculated but funds from the purple practise raised approximately $150 for the Liv-A-Little Foundation.
