With summer just around the corner, gardens are popping up everywhere and one garden in particular, planted in the El Ibrahim family's backyard, was planted with the help of the Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) greenhouse class.

The two eldest sons in the family, Ibrahim and Mohammid, joined the class at the beginning of the year and have been a great addition to the team during group projects.

Lead by greenhouse student Sarah Underwood, the entire class was busy all week making sure that the garden was prepped well, planting the many vegetables that were grown in the Saugeen Greenhouse, with a special request by the family for many cucumbers.

Great community projects cannot be completed without the support of community members such as the members of the fourth period Saugeen Greenhouse students. As well, a special thank you to Mowbray’s Canadian Tire for their generous donations of tomato cages, fertilizer, and seeds, especially the cucumber seeds.photo 2photo 4 dblphoto 5
