OPP layered fullOn May 2, 2016 at 1:31 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a body floating in Lake Huron off the shore of MacGregor Point Provincial Park in Saugeen Township.

In a May 3 media release, officers arrived and removed the body from the water with assistance from members of the Saugeen Shores Fire Department.

The OPP Forensic Identification Unit, South Bruce OPP Crime unit and Office of the Coroner are assisting with the investigation. 

Phil Eagleson, Fire Chief with the Saugeen Shores Fire Department said on Tuesday that the body was found in a remote location just south of MacGregor Point, closer to the 2nd Concession of Saugeen Shores. "No more than 300 meters offshore in shallow water and it was somebody walking by that saw it and made the police aware," said Eagleson.
