On Wednesday, April 13, Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW), Southport will welcome a world renowned speaker to Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre. Andrea O’Reilly, PhD, a professor in the School of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at York University, will present ‘When We Were Young - The Changing Role of Motherhood’.
O’Reilly is founder and director of The Motherhood Initiative for Research and Community Involvement, founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Motherhood, founder and publisher of Demeter Press, as well as author/editor of 20 books on motherhood including the first-ever encyclopedia of motherhood.
She is also a recipient of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) Sarah Shorten Award for outstanding achievements in the promotion of the advancement of women in Canadian universities and colleges and has twice received York University’s Professor of the Year Award for teaching excellence.
This event is open to the public and admission is by donation. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., presentation starts at 7 p.m.
