Northport Elementary School held their public speaking competition for students from grades 4 to 8 February 9.

In a press release, the school congratulated all the participants for excellent speeches and taking the opportunity to improve their public speaking skills.

The top two students in each category will represent Northport at the District competition held at Northport on February 25. In the Junior division, the top students were Rishab Roychowdhury and Evrim Dereli. In the Intermediate division, Mya Kinden and Mariyam Shiek.

The top three students from each category are invited to participate in the Legion competition February 28 so in addition to the students mentioned above, Darragh Billings will compete from the Junior division and David Parsons from Intermediate.
