A public meeting to discuss how to approach Canada's 150th birthday celebrations in 2017 will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at the Rotary Hall at The Plex in Port Elgin.
The meeting will include information regarding funding opportunities, the creation of a 150th Events Planning Committee as well as ideas for a year full of events and how to theme them for the 150th celebration.
“This is such an important milestone for Canadians,” says Jayne Jagelewski, Director of Community Services with the Town of Saugeen Shores. “We are so fortunate to live in such a great country so let’s make sure we celebrate the 150th birthday right.”
Anyone interested in attending the meeting is asked to RSVP by September 21, 2015 to Heather Lorenz at specialevents@saugeenshores.ca. Information on government 150th programs can be found HERE.
