Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased need for blood donations prompting local organizers and Canadian Blood Services to schedule an additional Blood Donor Clinic in Saugeen Shores.

The clinic is by appointment only and is scheduled for July 30 at the Plex in Port Elgin, 600 Tomlinson Drive, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Those wishing to donate can contact 1-888-236-6283 or book an appointment at blood.ca.

Volunteers are to be kept to a minimum but anyone interesting in volunteering can contact lawson@bmts.com.

The next regularly scheduled clinic will be held in August.
