April 18 saw the biggest jump in confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Grey Bruce with 14 new cases, all in Owen Sound.

"We have been testing a larger segment of the population," read an April 18 report from the Grey Bruce Health Unit. "As we are testing more, we have been expecting an increase in confirmed positive cases. Nevertheless, this spike further affirms the evidence of the community spread and that the level of risk warrants continuing practicing physical and social distancing regardless of the location in Grey and Bruce."

Today's number brings the cumulative total in Grey Bruce to 59, 17 of which are reported among health care workers and one outbreak is reported in a Long Term Care facility. Eleven cases are recovered and zero cases are hospitalized at this time.
