The sunny sky was not the only thing that brightened Tracey Murray’s day on Wednesday, March 27 at the Southampton Hospital. As Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Murray was contacted by Saugeen Shores Winterhawks President Gord Lamont informing her of the $2663.50 being donated to the Foundation. The funds were raised from a number of 50/50 draws which took place at every Winterhawks game this season.
Both Murray and Foundation Chair Jim Barbour were present to receive the generous donation. Team players Andy Mitchell and James McHaig, were joined by Lamont and future Winterhawks hopeful Oliver Mitchell; all there to present the cheque. The Foundation was thrilled by the donation which came as a complete surprise.
"They just called us out of the blue," explained Murray.
