The new digs for the Laboratory at the Southampton Hospital are almost finished and staff are getting ready to move into their brand new space.

To facilitate the move, the Lab will close for two days next week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 12 and 13.

The Lab will re-open on Thursday, February 14 in its new space and will operate on its regular schedule from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Hospital volunteers will be onsite to direct patients to the new and improved facilities.

The new Lab will be twice the size it was previously and is the second last step in the renovations that have been ongoing at the Southampton Hospital. The 10,000 square foot addition to the Emergency Department was Phase 1 of the project and the new ER opened last year.

The final phase is the new Auxiliary Gift Shop. That work is well underway with completion expected this Spring.
