Results are in from the Port Elgin schools for the Terry Fox Runs they particaptaed in this year. Saugeen District Secondary School, St. Joseph's School, Ecole Port-Elgin Saugeen Central School and Northport Elementary School all held their individual annual Terry Fox Runs.

Students at Saugeen District Secondary School paid a $2 donation to buy out of their class to participate in a walk or run around the school grounds raising over $1,100.

Students from Mrs. Slade's grade 3/4 class led the way for the rest of the students from Ecole Port-Elgin Saugeen Central School as they began their annual Terry Fox Run on October 1. All staff and students participated in this event, raising $880.00.

Approximately 400 children plus teachers at Northport Elementary School took part on Thursday, October 1 by walking around the school playing fields. The students all dressed in red and white for the occasion, and spelled out the letters N.O.P. Close to $800 was raised.

St. Joseph's Run took place on Friday, October 2 after speeches were made from grade 4 and 5 children about Terry Fox himself and what he accomplished. Over 200 children plus teachers took part, with the kindergarten to grade 3 children running around the track within the school grounds and the senior grades 4 to 8 running around the perimeter of the school with approximately $300 being raised.
