The Liv-A-Little Foundation received a welcome donation October 25 from Ashanti Coffee in downtown Port Elgin.

The funds were raised from Ashanti’s week-long Lavender Fundraiser, October 17 to October 23, which saw proceeds from the sale of their Purple Lavender Lattes and Purple Frosted Cupcakes, created just for the week, go to the Liv-A-Little Foundation.

Jamieson Lamb of Ashanti Coffee said that in addition to the new products, they replaced their tip jar for the week with a donation jar for Liv-A-Little.

All told, 32 lattes and 49 cupcakes plus $283 from the tip jar made up the $480 donation to the foundation to help find a cure for Cystinosis.

“In a community where there are so many amazing causes we are grateful to be the charity Ashanti chose to spread a little lavender love to,” said Erin Little of the Liv-A-Little Foundation. “Saugeen Shores is moving mountains on raising money to find a cure for Cystinosis and it's not until we combine all of the money and hard work that a difference is made. There in no donation too big or too small, it takes a village. We will beat Cystinosis.”
