MICROTEL RENDERING

Owners of Super 8 in Port Elgin are happy to announce the addition of another hotel to Saugeen Shores. The new property will be located to the south of Super 8’s current location, 5129 Highway 21, in Port Elgin.

Jennifer and Tom Evans, Andy and Leny Kuperus, of EK Hospitality, in partnership with MasterBUILT Hotels, announced the expansion of the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham brand into Port Elgin May 24.

In a media release, the property will be developed and operated by the Evans-Kuperus family along with MasterBuilt Hotels, making the brand’s sixth location in Ontario and will feature urban construction design, providing guests with modern accommodations with complimentary ultra high-speed Internet, hot breakfast, upscale fitness centre, swimming pool with waterslide and meeting room facilities.

The hotel will be fully accessible and features the latest in safety and security in guest rooms and public spaces, including two electric car charging stations. The 68 guest rooms and suites will feature a compact refrigerator, microwave and in room coffee with select rooms featuring a full kitchen, separate bedroom and living room, ideal for extended stays.

The Microtel brand is known for its modern design and award-winning guest satisfaction, making it a perfect addition to the Saugeen Shores community,” said Eric Watson, Chief Operating Officer of MasterBUILT Hotels. “Port Elgin is a vibrant community with a great deal of growth and opportunity and we look forward to being part of it,” he added.

“We are pleased to add Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham to our hotel market in Port Elgin. Along with its long list of amenities, it will have an excellent location at the south end of Port Elgin and be within walking distance to restaurants and shopping,” said EK Hospitality President Jennifer Evans. “This hotel will be a perfect option for long term and short term business travellers as well as families and couples,” she added.
