SNC-Lavalin has joined Bruce Power’s regional economy, securing office space in Port Elgin. The office will be home to about a dozen key SNC-Lavalin employees and is expected to open in the fall.
“SNC-Lavalin has been a major partner of Bruce Power for decades,” said Preston Swafford, SNC-Lavalin’s Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice-President, Nuclear, adding they are excited to increase their presence in Bruce County.
From a June 13 media release, in October 2016, Bruce Power and SNC-Lavalin signed a framework agreement of up to $400 million as Bruce Power advances its multi-year investment program.
“SNC-Lavalin is an important part of our Life-Extension Program and having it join our local economy will enhance our ability to work closely and effectively in delivering this project on time and on budget,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO.
Mitch Twolan, Warden of Bruce County, also welcomed SNC-Lavalin to the region, calling it "invigorating" to see leading companies like SNC-Lavalin join the local economy.
