Brass Awards 560The nomination process for the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce BRASS (Business Recognition Awards of Saugeen Shores) Awards is now complete and the BRASS committee, along with the Chamber, is proud to announce Top 3 finalists in this year’s award nominations.

In a May 5 media release, there were over 170 nominations submitted for a total of 56 local businesses in various categories and the judging panel has determined the Top 3 finalists in each category:

Service Excellence: Aunt Mabel’s Country Kitchen & Motel, Carey Optical, South Stables Coffee House

Young Professional of the Year: Jennifer Lamont, The Spa Room; Laura Solway and Helen Niesing, Port Elgin Chiropractic; Michelle Helen Bruin, Na’Hoola Spa

Professional Service Business of the Year: Bruce County Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic, Judy Rich Barrister & Solicitor, MacKay Family Dental

Employer of the Year: The Elk & Finch, The Walker House

Business of the Year: Seaman and Sons Builders, Southampton Olive Oil Company, The Queen’s Bar & Grill

This year there will also be a Lifetime Achievement Award.

There will be a video showcase created and presented by Bruce Power featuring the Top 3 finalists in each category at the Gala Event.

“Special thanks go to OLG for their continued generous title sponsorship of the BRASS Awards Gala Event, taking place this year on June 10, at Lakeshore Recreation,” said Joanne Robbins in an email. “Our local trophy/category sponsors also deserve recognition for their continued commitment to recognize our local business leaders.”

The BRASS Awards is a formal event including a three course meal, cash bar and both silent and live auctions and is open to anyone wishing to recognize and support businesses in the community.

Any proceeds raised from the Gala will benefit the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce community projects that support community events and initiatives within Saugeen Shores.
