An Ontario By Bike workshop will be held April 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Plex in Port Elgin.
The free 2-hour workshop is open to everyone and is of particular interest to businesses and organizations interested in the development of cycle tourism in Saugeen Shores and the surrounding region.
Ontario By Bike is a network that offers information on cycling in Ontario, inspiring visitors and residents to find great places to cycle. It provides events and tours, resources and an online map of certified bicycle-friendly businesses and attractions.
The Ontario By Bike workshop will explain who cyclist tourists are, what they want as visitors and how welcoming them can provide an economic boost. It will highlight what’s new and trending in cycling and cycle tourism in Saugeen Shores and the region including local routes, projects and events; and provide insight into marketing, product and networking opportunities. As well, it will inform on how to become, at no cost, a certified bicycle-friendly business or organization.
Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP at www.ontariobybike-saugeenshores.eventbrite.ca.
