Businesses be merry in Port and South

Bicyclette HorizontalThe results are in! After careful deliberation the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce and Saugeen Shores Hub are excited to announce the winners of the 2015 Christmas Decorating Contest.

In Port Elgin, first place went to Bicyclette Rouge Children’s Boutique, with a score of 17 out of 20. Bicyclette Rouge won the Decorating Contest in 2014, and also won for best float in the 2014 Port Elgin Santa Claus Parade.

The first place award in Southampton went to Bliss, also with a score of 17 out of 20.

There were four categories in which each business was judged: Wow Factor, Originality, Use of Decoration, and Overall Impression, which were then scored out of five.

Bliss in Southampton scored the highest for Originality, and Bicyclette Rouge scored highest in Wow Factor.

Both businesses will receive free advertising for three-months with Saugeen Shores Hub.

There was a five-way tie for second place in Port Elgin, with honorable mention going to Blackboard Sound, Saugeen Shores Family Eye Care, Turtle Crossing, Docknits and Mensch, who all scored 15 out of 20. And third went to Keepsakes and Memories with a score of 14.

Second place in Southampton went to Infinite with a score of 16 out of 20, with third to Cook’s Cupboard and Re/Max Southampton each with a score of 15 out of 20.
