The Rotary Club of Southampton is hosting a free bird house construction workshop for young people at the Rotary Hall in Southampton on Saturday, June 17.
The workshop is set to take place at 39 Grey Street South from 10am to noon.
"Bring along a family member and go home with your very own bird house ready for installation in your garden or back yard," read a May 29 media release from Southampton Rotary. Also included will be a guide on where to site the bird house and what type of birds are likely to be attracted to this new home.
The workshop is limited to 25 families and registration will happen on a first come, first served basis. To register visit southamptonrotary.com/page/bird-house-workshop.
The bird house kits are being made by members of the Rotary Club from locally sourced cedar. Fixtures, fittings and screwdrivers will be provided.
"All you have to do is assembly the pre-drilled pieces from the kit," read the release, adding that participants don’t need any special knowledge or tools as the club will provide all the materials, assembly tools and guide attendees through the build process.
