What started as a Christmas themed decoration in Paisley has turned into a community-wide contest, thanks to the Paisley Blues Festival. The Selfie with a Gingerbread Giant Contest is underway from now until December 20.

"The Gingerbread Giants started out as a decoration for a house, but when businesses were asked if they wanted one, the number went up to 22," said Maxwell Johnston with Paisley Blues Festival.

"Paisley Blues Festival made the Gingerbread Giants, and then some of the businesses painted and decorated theirs," he explained.

The contest is simple, find and take a selfie with one of the Gingerbread Giants at a participating business in Paisley. Share the photo to your Facebook or Instagram and tag the Paisley Blues Festival (@paisleybluesfestival). In the caption include the community you live in and your favourite part of Christmas. Make sure your post is set to public so organizers can see your entry. 

A winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible entrants on December 21 and the winner will receive an 11 piece Paderno cookware set and a large hardwood cutting board.
