Snow Fest isn't just for kids and the third annual event was no exception.
The famous snow mountain will be returning to Coulter Parkette on Family Day weekend as the Port Elgin BIA will be hosting the fourth annual Snow Fest on Saturday, February 15 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
In a February 4 Port Elgin BIA media release, s’mores, snow painting, road hockey and children’s activities are all planned, along with the ever-popular snow mountain.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what Public Works has in mind for the mountain this year,” said BIA Coordinator Jordan MacKinnon. “They always come up with creative designs.”
Those planning to ride down the snow mountain are reminded that personal sleds are not allowed and that crazy carpets will be provided.
Downtown businesses will be open and people are encouraged to visit local retailers while taking part in Snow Fest.
“We’re hoping folks will check out Snow Fest, ride the snow mountain and also take a walk around our beautiful downtown and visit our local businesses,” said MacKinnon.
The event is free of charge; however, donations toward Snow Fest 2021 will be appreciated.
Volunteers are critical to the success of any community event, and Snow Fest is no different. Those wishing to volunteer an hour of their time can register with the BIA via e-mail at portelginbia@gmail.com.
