Poutinefest in downtown Port Elgin was a hit once again as The Wismer House, Queen's Bar & Grill and Chester's Bar & Grill Co. stepped up to the plate to serve some amazing variations of the Canadian cuisine including secret recipes of pulled pork, brisket and maple bacon.

Formerly a Port Elgin BIA event, organizer Cathy Fenton said she was ecstatic with the over 300 in attendance August 11 while acknowledging the expected lower attendance compared to the July 1st Canada 150 event last year.

Benefitting from this year's efforts is the Dream Share Uganda project as well as Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey.
