ÉPESCS's Senior Band and Jazz Ensemble came home with medals from the 46th MusicFest at the Univesity of Toronto.

Members of École Port Elgin Saugeen Central School (ÉPESCS)’s Senior Band and Jazz Ensemble received a warm welcome May 16 as they arrived home from the 46th MusicFest national competition held at the University of Toronto to sirens and cheers, accompanied by Saugeen Shores Police and Fire escorts.
Under the direction of music teacher Matthew Patterson, ÉPESCS’s Senior Band won gold and the school’s Jazz Ensemble made history by becoming the first elementary school Jazz Ensemble to compete and brought home silver.
The students were escorted by Saugeen Shores Fire Department and Saugeen Shores Police Service.
The bus was met with cheers, balloons and banners as they arrived back to the school May 16.
