Families from far and wide spent parts of the Family Day long weekend enjoying the outdoor activities that MacGregor Point Provincial Park had to offer February 17. From Survivor inspired challenges that got families working together to sipping hot chocolate and roasting wieners while being surrounded by friendly chickadees, there was lots to do on the first day of the long weekend.
Family fun continues today (Sunday) with a Wild Ontario indoor Birds of Prey show beginning at 2 p.m.
The Friends of MacGregor Point Park will continue to provide hot chocolate and hot dogs to roast at the Visitors Centre today from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
On Family Day Monday there will be a SASSO (Sled Dog Sports Association of Southwestern Ontario) Dogsled Demonstrations in the skating oval parking lot from 12 to 2 p.m.
With her sons looking on Amanda Hallman of Dungannon knocked over the bottle in one shot to take the lead during the Survivor Challenge.
The Walicki family of Hanover worked together in the word scramble.
Matthew (left), Alex, and Amanda Hallman celebrated their win over their expertly crafted fire that burned the rope which signalled the end of the challenge.
The weiner roast station at the Visitors Centre was a hot spot.
While waiting to roast their hotdogs many took time to feed the fearless chickadees.
