The reason for the season was celebrated as the Chantry Singers and the Saugeen Shores Ministerial Association welcomed all to Lessons and Carols at the Southampton United Church December 10.
Readers from various churches in Saugeen Shores came together to read the story of the birth of Jesus as the Chantry Singers and the congregation came together to sing songs after each reading.
Readers included: Pastor Gary Harvey of Port Elgin Missionary Church, Father Franjo Šprajc of St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, House Chaplain Eileen Wolfe of Southampton Care Centre, Reverend Chuck Moon of Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Church and Knox Presbyterian Church, Pastor Darlyn Rath of Southampton Hospital, Trish Verburg of Living Hope Christian Centre, Pastor David Baker of Southport Pentecostal, Reverend Bonnie Holliday of Port Elgin United Church, Karen Lyons Chaplain at Elgin Lodge and Reverend Gerry Hofstetter of Southampton and Mount Hope United Church.
The Chantry Singers were directed by Conductor Anne Little and accompanied by Pianist Christina Edwards and Organist Doug Squire.
