The sky will light up again in Port Elgin as the Labour Day fireworks, hosted by the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce, have been rescheduled for September 30 to coincide with Port Elgin Pumpkinfest, taking place September 30 and October 1.
The fireworks were originally intended for Labour Day and were held-off due to high water and winds and received approval by Saugeen Shores Fire Chief Phil Eagleson to take place at the north end of the harbour.
Chamber staff would like to stress that for safety reasons everyone taking in the fireworks display must keep a safe distance of minimum 100 metres from the north end ignition spot. Boaters will not be effected. The fireworks are set to get underway at dusk with favourable weather conditions, with Chamber staff reminding spectators to sit north on the beach rather than west.
Chamber staff will be busy with Pumpkinfest and therefore there will be no sale of glow products.
