Children and their families found the spirit of Christmas and solace from the rain inside the Port Elgin Library’s second annual Gingerbread Library, November 26.
From scavenger hunts, ornament making to gingerbread decorating, the Christmas spirits were on high throughout the Library.
Decorations were everywhere as Library Supervisor Kathy Samson gave all the credit to library employee Amanda Ransome as she had perfected the gingerbread look throughout the establishment.
The event was free, but donations to the non-profit group, Friends of the Library, were accepted. Every child who entered was able to include their name in a raffle prize pack put together by the Friends of the Library.
Gage Leslie proudly showed off his newly decorated Christmas ornament he made with the help of “Elf” Zach Derance, age 13, during the second annual Gingerbread Library, November 26.
On the left, 3 year old Vera Quibell made sure her snowman matched her ensemble. On the right, Taylor was excited to find the seventh item on her scavenger hunt list November 26, at the Port Elgin Library’s Gingerbread Library event.
Five-year-old Gordon Brady attached a red nose to his reindeer ornament, with help from Greg Strong (left).
A very democratic way to choose the name of the Port Elgin Library’s Elf on a Shelf (please note it was not rigged).
Wesley Quibell picked out the perfect googly eyes for his ornament.
