Rotary Ribfest 2015
Mark your calendars for great food and great music as Port Elgin Rotary Club hosts their third annual Ribfeast (formerly Ribfest) with proceeds going to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital expansion project in Southampton.
Ribfeast will take place at North Shore Park, located next to the Port Elgin Harbour, on Saturday, August 6. Gates open from 4 to 10 p.m. with dinner - including pork back ribs, grilled Italian sausage, corn on the cob, salads, rolls and strawberry shortcake for dessert - being served from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is licensed under AGCO.
And back by popular demand, Easy Street Band will entertain those in attendance from 6 to 10 p.m.
“It's just a great family night in North Shore Park,” said Rotarian Mark Kraemer. “On a summer's night with that sun going down, you can't find a better venue for an event.”
Last year's Ribfest saw approximately 430 people in attendance and this year, Kraemer said, Port Elgin Rotary Club is hoping for 500. “We're having a dinner party and 500 of our closets friends are hopefully going to show up,” he said.
Ticket are $40 for adults and $10 for child under 12. Kraemer said that they modified the costs this year for families who are coming in. “We upped the age and lowered the price for kids this year.”
Tax receipts are available with the purchase of a ticket and tickets are available at the following outlets:
Port Elgin: Ralph's Hi-Way Shoppette, Cathy's Flowers 'N Treasures and the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce
Southampton: Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce and Vincent Jewellers
Or call Bill Henderson 519-389-4969 or Mark Kraemer 519-389-3825.
