image fullOn Saturday, May 28 Lakeshore Recreation in Port Elgin will be hosting a Lip Sync Battle, a first-of-its-kind event in Saugeen Shores, with proceeds going to the Caitlyn Cobean's Community Crusaders, in support of Tara "Boom" Houston Children's Foundation (TBHCF).

Twelve acts will be judged on a previously selected and practised piece, and winners will be chosen based on presentation, originality and creativity, lip sync ability and audience response.

Participation is by donation and those interested can register through the reception desk at Lakeshore Recreation or find the form online at Lakeshore Recreation’s events page and return it to the gym at 1177 Goderich Street, Highway 21 North, Port Elgin. You must be 19 years or older to register and submissions are due by May 1.

This promises to be a fun night and Cailtyn Cobean's Community Crusaders is a great cause. Founded by family and friends of Cobean, a local teen who sadly lost her battle with cancer in August 2008, the Crusaders, in support of TBHFC, is dedicated to raising funds to help improve the lives of families whose children who have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. All money raised by this event will go to help families in Southwestern Ontario including Grey and Bruce counties.
