fullA benefit concert featuring a diverse range of musical styles, Classical to Contemporary, will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 7 at the Port Elgin United Church. All proceeds will go to the Saugeen Shores Refugee Fund.

The concert lineup covers a wide range of instruments and genres, featuring a classical portion with performances by the Allegro Youth Choir, pianist Sahar Hassenein and vocalist Erin Milley-Patey. Contemporary performances will include a jazz saxophone soloist, a musical theater number, Ukrainian folk music and a Beatles cover band.

Tickets are available at a cost of $20 and can be purchased at Cathy’s Flowers ‘N Treasures, Bayberry’s of High Street, Little’s Furniture and the Port Elgin United Church. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Organized by a group of local residents, the Saugeen Shores Refugee Fund is currently raising funds to sponsor a Syrian family to relocate to the community.
