The Breakers Swim Team have had a busy start to 2019. The club attended the Guelph Dash for Cash Long Course 2019 meet March 28 to 31, hosted by the Guelph Marlins Aquatic Club. The Saugeen Shores Breakers had some great swims over the four day meet including some new swims, personal best (PB) times and top eight placements.

The highlight of the weekend was the setting of a new club record by Braeden Ashton in the 200m Breast. Ashton's time of 2:54.85 broke the record previously set by James Clements in 1986.

Braeden Ashton achieved 5th place in the 100m Freestyle, 2nd place in the 50m Freestyle and a PB (8th place) in the 200m Breaststroke.

Kenzie Bourassa achieved PB in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke and 50m Backstroke.

Jayson Horseman achieved PB in the 1500m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle (7th place), 200m IM, 200m Freestyle (8th place), 200m Breaststroke and 400m Freestyle.

Hannah Kent achieved PB in the 800m Freestyle, 5th place in the 200m Backstroke and PB in the 400m Freestyle.

Zach McEwen achieved PB in the 50m Butterfly, 4th place in the 200m Backstroke and PB in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle.

Michelle Wang achieved PB in the 100m Freestyle and PB 200m Individual Medley, 7th place in the 100m Butterfly and PB (6th place) in the 50m Freestyle.

From February 1 to 3, 2019, the club sent six swimmers to compete at the Huronia Short Course Regional Championships in Bracebridge. Despite the small squad, the Breakers qualified for finals in 14 events and broke a club record for the Boys 15 and Over 200m Medley Relay, which was set last year at the same event.

Braeden Ashton finished with a bronze medal in the 100m Backstroke and also swam in finals for the 100m Freestyle.

Jayson Horseman swam in finals for the 50m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke and 50m Breaststroke.

Hannah Kent qualified for finals in 200m Backstroke.

Cameron McEwan qualified for finals in 100m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, 200m Individual Medley and 50m Freestyle.
