Saugeen Shores Police Services along with young family members and friends from the OPP, West Grey and Hanover Police took to the streets of Southampton May 22 to with a Torch Run to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics.
The Special Olympics organizes a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as bowling, bocce, golf, cross-country skiing and swimming, where athletes can participate at local, regional, provincial, national and world levels.
With the OPP’s Adam Belanger holding the torch, the run began on Victoria Street in front of GC Huston Public School in Southampton.
Participants looked like they were enjoying themselves as they headed down Southampton’s High Street, May 22, during the Special Olympics Torch Run.
