Sally Kidson announced her retirement in June, 2018 and will officially leave her post November 30.

Dear Editor,

On the occasion of my retirement from the position of Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, I wish to write to everyone in our community to say thank you for your support of the work of the Foundation during my tenure over the past four years. Thank you to our supportive local media, thank you to our wonderful and amazing volunteers, thank you to the Town of Saugeen Shores mayor and council and staff. But most of all, thank you to each and every one of you who gave – from the lemonade stands in the summer to the major monetary gifts - each gift is precious.

Because of everyone’s help and support, the Foundation has consistently been able to meet its fundraising targets. The expansion project at our hospital in Southampton is something of which we can all be very proud. Year after year you have also helped the Foundation raise funds to purchase priority medical equipment which is essential for patient care.

Who are these patients? Well, they are me and you, and our families, and our friends, and our visitors.

Please continue to support the new Executive Director, Tracy Murray as the Foundation moves forward in raising funds for years to come. Be a GEM, support the Light the Way campaign, ride in the Gran Fondo Lake Huron, purchase a Catch the Ace ticket, visit Cruisers Nites, and support other community events where the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation is the recipient of funds. You might even consider leaving a gift of life insurance or a gift in your will which can be easy to do and does not affect your day to day cash flow.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Truly.

Sally Kidson
