Editor,
Currently Saugeen Shores Council has the following capital projects in varying stages of consideration. They are: $6.5 million for a waterfront master plan, $6.8 million for a new police station, $15 million for a new pool and recreation centre, an undetermined amount for new ball diamonds and as of the September 11 council meeting, an $11.4 million dollar proposal for the Southampton Town Hall Library twinning project.
These are over and above any operational or other current capital programs. Tax increases for the last two years have been about 4 percent, not counting mandated water and sewer rates as required by the province.
At what point will someone say, ‘No?’
