Members of Parliament in the vicinity of an unidentified object that was reported to have been spotted over Lake Huron on February 12, 2023 have released a joint statement to the press.
The object, along with others that have been reported to have entered Canadian airspace in recent days, have been said to have been shot down and are being investigated.
On February 14, 2023, Ben Lobb, Huron-Bruce; Alex Ruff, for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound; Lianne Rood, Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, and Marilyn Gladu, Sarnia—Lambton released the following joint statement to the media:
"Parliamentarians have received a briefing from the government. Our Canadian Armed Forces, in co-operation with the RCMP, the Coast Guard and our NORAD [North American Aerospace Defense Command] and American partners are working to actively recover and investigate the origin of these objects."
The statement further said that updates will be provided to the public as more becomes known. Anyone with relevant information is being asked to contact the RCMP National Security Line at 1-800-420-5405.
