Saugeen Shores Votes 2022

Saugeen Shores will see some changes in the upcoming Council term as the official results of the 2022 municipal election are in.

With Luke Charbonneau (Mayor), Mike Myatt (Vice Deputy Mayor) and John Divinski and Cheryl Grace (Southampton Ward Councillors) acclaimed, the remaining positions stand as follows.

Diane Huber won the Deputy Mayor position with 2431 votes, beating Don Matheson with 1577 and Matt Carr with 1185 votes.

Port Elgin Ward will see two new councillors in Bud Halpin (1485 votes) and Rachel Stack (1002 votes), beating Dianne Mini Jacques who garnered 955 votes and Katie Rice with 769 votes.

Incumbent David Myette held onto his seat for the Saugeen Ward with 772 votes and Justin Duhaime will take the second spot with 787 votes. It was a close race with Kimberley Inniss-Petersen getting 730 votes.

For the Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) Trustee position, Katie Lutz has been declared the winner, garnering 1683 more votes than Yvonne Cameron among Saugeen Shores constituents with 3933 to Cameron's 2250.

For the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) Trustee, Lucie Desbiens has been declared the winner with 762 votes in Saugeen Shores to Jeannette Lee's 469.

Arran-Elderslie will also see some changes according to the unofficial results as newcomer Jennifer Christie beat out incumbent Mark Davis for the Deputy Mayor's seat with 1704 votes over Davis' 722.

Former Councillor Peter Steinacker took the Tara Ward with 309 votes over Ryan Greig's 218.

Ryan Nickason hung onto his Arran Ward seat with 489 votes over John Alpaugh's 74.

Brian Dudgeon held onto his Elderslie Ward seat with 218 votes over Melissa Barrett's 119.

Steve Hammell was acclaimed to the Mayor's chair.

In the Trustee race in Arran-Elderslie, Katie Lutz received 1157 votes over Yvonne Cameron's 854 for the BWDSB, and Lucie Desbiens took 33 votes to Jeannette Lee's 30 for the BGCDSB.
