Following a successful event in September 2021 and in honour of Earth Week, the Southampton Rotary is once again holding a drive through shredding event on Saturday, April 23 from 9am to 1pm behind the Rotary Hall at 39 Grey Street South in Southampton.

The event will be on a first come, first served basis and is being touted environmentally friendly.

"The Club is again partnering with Wasteco to bring an onsite shredding service to our community to shred personal, confidential and financially sensitive documents," read a recent media release from Southampton Rotary, adding that the waste will go on to be used in recycle paper products.

Signage will be on site on the day of the event to direct drivers and while there will be no charge, a donation of $10 is suggested. Cash is preferred but payment by debit or credit will also be available.

Event Chair, Rotarian Dave Lennon said the club was delighted to once again be bringing a confidential shredding service to Saugeen Shores and said it was good for the environment and helps to reduce identity theft.

"We are looking forward to having a fun event where we all can have ripping good time," said Lennon.
